Main Task.
The task is to create a music magazine of a genre of your choice including a front page, contents page and a double page spread.
I have decided to go with the genre Pop as I am most appealed to this specific genre, I also feel that I will gain the most inspiration out of the research to help create my final production.

Evaluation.
As the task was
to create a school magazine with a chosen target audience of your choice I feel
that my designs of the media product that I have created have many elements of
conventions that existing products contain. I developed this as my beginning
research all helped with my final outcome, I specific looked at main focuses of
a school magazine I found that they include the following as key aspects; a master
head, a key image, cover lines. However for the contents page the conventions
changed slightly as some of the main features of a contents page are to have
various insert images and many cover lines as a contents page is to help the audience
know what the magazine contains. I used all of these features for my final
development as it made my magazine and contents page more realistic and
professional.
I aimed my
media product to be targeted at a specific social group being school pupils. I
decided to have an all round school magazine containing all interests to all
subjects therefore it would be a great hit to the target audience as all
interests are provided in the magazine. The cover lines express this as they
consist of different aspects to the audience either it being to do with drama, English
or maths.
The institution
that would distribute my magazine would be a school as I focused my magazine
based around a Christian school. Also the audience that I have aimed my media product
to is 11-16 year olds as this is the particular age range that would most likely
read my magazine. You can see that this chosen target audience is appropriate by
the way the magazine has been presented as a consistent house style has been
used of bright colour being; yellow, blue and black. This provides the
presentation of the magazine to look bright and colourful engaging the audience
also the house style is carried through to my contents page therefore it
interests the audience much more. By having a key image of young happy children
all helps influence the age range as this reflects on the target audience as
they would appeal to this. As the contents page has various insert images this
influences the target audience to want to read on as they would want to find out
more about that specific story.
The technologies that I have learnt for this particularly media
product are all helping through the research and development as I have gone in
to depth in my research to gain a wider understanding of how certain magazines
are to be presented this helped me for this task as existing work gave me
inspiration and guidance to what I should produce. I used Adobe InDesign to
create my media product; I gained many new skills which I will use for my next
task to create a music magazine.

Final production - Contents page.
Here is my final production for my contents page. I have also changed a few aspects of the layout from looking at the drafts. I have added a long yellow bar down the left side so that all the page numbers would be located together also it is easy for the target audience to read as it just goes straight down therefore it is more simplistic. Also I have rearranged some insert images as the placement of where I allocated them on the draft did not work out when creating it therefore I adjusted this situation by down scaling the images and moving them around. I felt that a good idea to put on my contents page would be to have an image of the front cover as I could have a specific section analysing what is on the front cover. I am very pleased with my contents page as it has carried out the house style and theme from the front cover to the contents page it presents the two pages as a hole to look more professional.
Final Production - Font cover.
Here is my final production for my front cover. I have used many aspects from my draft that I chose to got with as it was a base for what my final piece would look like. I have changed a few elements as I have added more text above the main cover line this is because i felt that it would look better if there was two other cover lines above in a smaller font size leading down to the most important. I have also developed the logo into the the letter 'e' of time i found that this is a clever way of presenting the logo as it has been emerged with the masterhead, from doing that it gave me a space so I could move the 'brand new' stamp to the top right as this gave me room to put in the other story headers. Overall i am pleased with my final front cover as it follow the house style that i wanted and i feel that it is sutaible for the target audience as it is appealing and interesting.
Contact Prints.
Here is my contact prints of all the photos that I have taken that could of been possibly used for my front cover and contents page. I took a good range of photos that i could select to use as the key image for my front cover. Also the other images i would use as insert images else where for my magazine.Sunday, 3 February 2013
Institution.
The institution which my magazine is based around is a school. It includes a variety of elements that revolve around Trinity School which is the school that I have chosen to go with to represent my magazine. It is a christian school therefore there is a certain boundary to what is allowed to be presented to the target audience for example a storyline about relationship status' would be inapropriate however a story about the christian religion is more reasonable. There would be certain elements that would fit the institution as other aspects of the school would be involved with my magazine such as other subjects of the school being; art, drama, english and many more.
