Final Production - Double Page Spread
Here is my final production of my double page spread. I have added a few aspects to my final production that I feel has made it look to be more realistic. For example I have added a realease date of Francesca's album at the end of the article aswell as a tour date. I have also added a circular symbol at the end of the article which consists of 'J.P' (Just POP) to identify that this is the end of the article, it is also used in exsisting music magazine therefore I felt that it would be a good idea to add this into my production. I have included page numbers in the bottom right hand corner as this is an important element as all magazines have page numbers.
Final production - Contents
Here is my final contents page, I have changed many aspects of this page as I feel that the composition of the contents page looks more professional now that the changes have been made. I have added three more insert images to create a more interesting look to the page. I have also shrunk in size the print screen of the front cover as it is now in line with the columns. I have added a publisher information box as this is most common in exsisting music magazines. The 'On the cover' box had decreased as this gave me extra room to allow me to place another insert image.
Final production - Front Cover
Here is my final production of my front cover. I have changed a few elements from my initial submission as I feel these slight changes have made my final production to look more professional. I have moved the main cover line to go across three lines as this is more clear and readable towards th audience. I have also got rid of the bubble effect around the word 'Pop' as it drew to much attention to the cover line as it is not the main subject this therefore made it very missleading. I have changed the font style and colour on the word 'Now' as there was to many different font styles presented in one small area. I have changed it back to the house style font 'Berlin Sans'.

Development of double page spread.
The double page spread once again has the consistent house style colours running through, I have also used the same font styles aswell to help group together the house style of the magazine as a hole. This double page spread has been influenced by exsisting spreads in music magazines I found these ideas and have created them into my own by adjusting some aspects as I feel they made the double page spread look much more professional and unique.
Development of contents page.
Here is im initial submission of my contents page. It follows the same house style as my front cover therefore it is very consistant. I have gained many aspiring ideas from previous exsisting contents pages, for example the top banner 'Inside this issue'. I got this similar idea from a well known pop magazine 'Top Of The Pops' as I feel it really draws attention into the page, it also makes it more interesting as it does not state 'Contents' as it has a unique twist to the main masthead.
Development of front cover.
Here is my development of my front cover for my magazine. As you can see I have gone with the house style colours; baby blue, baby pink and black. I have used my initial ideas from my final front cover draft therefore the layout of the cover is the exact same. I have gained many ideas from looking back at my research as it has all helped me gain an understanding of what a front cover should look like for my chosen genre in this case the pop genre.

Genre.
The genre that my magazine is aimed around is the pop genre this therefore reflects on the target audience. As this specific magazine is based around the genre pop this therefore leads the iconography to be very precise as it would be shown through the style of the artists either through there clothing, music videos and song lyrics. I will make sure that the genre is clearly represented as if I was to show another genre in my magazine it would present it to be very missleading, for example if I was to have an article on a rapper which fits with the genre rap this is inappropriate for my genre as it does not fit therefore I will make sure that I include all elements to do with the pop genre being correct articles, images and housestyle.
The institution that my magazine belongs to is POP, this genre is very mainstream there are many famous artists that pop music focuses on, for example Kylie Minogue is a unique icon to the pop industry as she has been around for many years she has now grown to be an idol to the target audience. The way Kylie has been represented through the media either it being through music magazines or her music videos, the audience has developed a bond towards her wanting to be her friend as such, so therefore the audience tends to buy music magazines to follow the life of the famous artist that they look up to.
Below are some images of Kylie, they show how she fits in with the genre POP.

Main Task.
The task is to create a music magazine of a genre of your choice including a front page, contents page and a double page spread.
I have decided to go with the genre Pop as I am most appealed to this specific genre, I also feel that I will gain the most inspiration out of the research to help create my final production.

Evaluation.
As the task was
to create a school magazine with a chosen target audience of your choice I feel
that my designs of the media product that I have created have many elements of
conventions that existing products contain. I developed this as my beginning
research all helped with my final outcome, I specific looked at main focuses of
a school magazine I found that they include the following as key aspects; a master
head, a key image, cover lines. However for the contents page the conventions
changed slightly as some of the main features of a contents page are to have
various insert images and many cover lines as a contents page is to help the audience
know what the magazine contains. I used all of these features for my final
development as it made my magazine and contents page more realistic and
professional.
I aimed my
media product to be targeted at a specific social group being school pupils. I
decided to have an all round school magazine containing all interests to all
subjects therefore it would be a great hit to the target audience as all
interests are provided in the magazine. The cover lines express this as they
consist of different aspects to the audience either it being to do with drama, English
or maths.
The institution
that would distribute my magazine would be a school as I focused my magazine
based around a Christian school. Also the audience that I have aimed my media product
to is 11-16 year olds as this is the particular age range that would most likely
read my magazine. You can see that this chosen target audience is appropriate by
the way the magazine has been presented as a consistent house style has been
used of bright colour being; yellow, blue and black. This provides the
presentation of the magazine to look bright and colourful engaging the audience
also the house style is carried through to my contents page therefore it
interests the audience much more. By having a key image of young happy children
all helps influence the age range as this reflects on the target audience as
they would appeal to this. As the contents page has various insert images this
influences the target audience to want to read on as they would want to find out
more about that specific story.
The technologies that I have learnt for this particularly media
product are all helping through the research and development as I have gone in
to depth in my research to gain a wider understanding of how certain magazines
are to be presented this helped me for this task as existing work gave me
inspiration and guidance to what I should produce. I used Adobe InDesign to
create my media product; I gained many new skills which I will use for my next
task to create a music magazine.

Final production - Contents page.
Here is my final production for my contents page. I have also changed a few aspects of the layout from looking at the drafts. I have added a long yellow bar down the left side so that all the page numbers would be located together also it is easy for the target audience to read as it just goes straight down therefore it is more simplistic. Also I have rearranged some insert images as the placement of where I allocated them on the draft did not work out when creating it therefore I adjusted this situation by down scaling the images and moving them around. I felt that a good idea to put on my contents page would be to have an image of the front cover as I could have a specific section analysing what is on the front cover. I am very pleased with my contents page as it has carried out the house style and theme from the front cover to the contents page it presents the two pages as a hole to look more professional.
Final Production - Font cover.
Here is my final production for my front cover. I have used many aspects from my draft that I chose to got with as it was a base for what my final piece would look like. I have changed a few elements as I have added more text above the main cover line this is because i felt that it would look better if there was two other cover lines above in a smaller font size leading down to the most important. I have also developed the logo into the the letter 'e' of time i found that this is a clever way of presenting the logo as it has been emerged with the masterhead, from doing that it gave me a space so I could move the 'brand new' stamp to the top right as this gave me room to put in the other story headers. Overall i am pleased with my final front cover as it follow the house style that i wanted and i feel that it is sutaible for the target audience as it is appealing and interesting.
Contact Prints.
Here is my contact prints of all the photos that I have taken that could of been possibly used for my front cover and contents page. I took a good range of photos that i could select to use as the key image for my front cover. Also the other images i would use as insert images else where for my magazine.Sunday, 3 February 2013
Institution.
The institution which my magazine is based around is a school. It includes a variety of elements that revolve around Trinity School which is the school that I have chosen to go with to represent my magazine. It is a christian school therefore there is a certain boundary to what is allowed to be presented to the target audience for example a storyline about relationship status' would be inapropriate however a story about the christian religion is more reasonable. There would be certain elements that would fit the institution as other aspects of the school would be involved with my magazine such as other subjects of the school being; art, drama, english and many more.

Target Audience.
The target audience that im aiming to please is young children from age 11- 16. I chose to go with this particular audience as i feel that it is a good age range to have a school magazine for, also i find that the magazine and front cover will appeal to the audience greatly if the house style is bold and effective. Therefore I have chosen to go with the following colour scheme; blue, yellow and black it will create a great effect and will engage the audience through its bright colours. All parts of the magazine being the master heading, images, house style will all be aimed at the target audience therefore it is a huge importance to get everything correct.
Photography 2.
Here is some more photography that i will use for my contents page. Both these images will be used as insert images as they are suitable to link with each objective for the contents page.
Photography 1.
Here is some of my photography that I will use for my front cover and contents page. The top right image I will use for the key image for the front cover. The other image will be used for insert images either for the contents page or front cover.
Prelim Task Drafts 2.
Here are my second drafts for the front cover and contents page, the house style would be pretty simple as it would consist of blue, yellow and black. The front cover would consist of a key image in the centre of the page engaging the audience the image would be of three school children in there uniform happy as they have won awards. However along the right side the box that includes three insert images would be changed to one insert image as it does not take away the focus of the main image. The master head would be of a similar bold font to what I have sketched this is due to the target audience as it represents the school being bold and clear. The logo would be located to the top right corner and the heading would move over to the far left, this would be changed as the format of the magazine would look much more professional.
The contents page would have the same house style as the front cover, the master head would be the exact same font and effect also. There would be various different images on the contents page relating to the different objectives within the magazine. The layout of the contents page has to be rather engaging as it has to catch the target audiences attention as they would look to see what the magazine would contain.
